Captions for your video

Show word-by-word captions, choose a style and position, or import your own subtitle file.

Captions help people watching with the sound off. Video Studio builds them from your transcript, word by word.

Steps

  1. Open the Captions tool.
  2. Switch on Show word-by-word captions. If it says Captions need words, transcribe your footage first, or import a subtitle file.
  3. Choose a Style. Styles include Bold, Clean box, Karaoke, Reveal, Pop and Marker.
  4. Choose a Position: Top, Middle or Bottom.
  5. Watch the preview. Captions are always shown in the preview, and are burned into the export when you choose to.

Use your own subtitle file

  1. Under Subtitle files, choose Import .srt / .vtt.
  2. Your captions now come from the imported file. Choose Use the transcript instead to go back.
  3. Choose Download .srt to keep a copy of the captions.

Tips

  • Correct names by double-clicking the word in the transcript. Check spellings of Arabic names and terms.
  • When you export, Burn in captions controls whether they are part of the video.
