Drip lessons and manage access

Release lessons over time, offer free previews, and open or close enrolment.

You don't have to give students everything on day one. Each lesson can unlock a set number of days after someone enrols, and you decide who can see the course and when new students can join.

Steps

  1. Open Revenue › Courses and choose your course.
  2. On the Curriculum tab, select a lesson.
  3. In Unlocks after, enter the number of days after a student enrols that the lesson opens. Use 0 for straight away. You can set up to 365 days.
  4. Repeat for each lesson. For a weekly course, for example, use 0, 7, 14 and so on.
  5. To let anyone sample a lesson from the course page before buying, turn on Free preview for that lesson.
  6. To stop new people joining, choose Close enrolment at the top of the course. Current students keep access. Choose Publish again to reopen it.

Remove or restore a student's access

  1. Open the Students tab.
  2. Find the student and open Student actions (the three dots).
  3. Choose Remove access and confirm. The student is marked No access.
  4. To undo it later, open Student actions again and choose Restore access.

Tips

  • Drip timing is counted from each student's own enrolment date, so someone who joins later still gets lessons in the same rhythm.
  • Quizzes also control pace: students must pass a quiz to move on to the next lesson.
  • Free preview lessons are a good way to show your teaching style on the course page.

Troubleshooting

  • A student says a lesson is locked: check its Unlocks after value and when they enrolled (shown on the Students tab), and whether an earlier quiz still needs a pass.
  • New buyers can't enrol: the course may be closed. If you see Publish instead of Close enrolment, the course isn't open for new students.
  • A student lost their link: open Student actions and choose Resend link.
