Charge tax on your sales

Add sales tax or VAT to your store, and choose whether your prices include it.

If you need to charge tax, such as VAT or GST, you can set one tax name and rate for your store. Weesify then shows it at checkout and on receipts. Check your local rules to decide whether and how much to charge.

Steps

  1. Open Store and select Tax at the top of the page. If tax is already on, the button shows your tax name and rate instead.
  2. Tick Charge tax on what I sell.
  3. Enter a Name that buyers will see, for example "VAT" or "GST".
  4. Enter the Rate as a percentage, for example 7.5.
  5. Choose how your prices work:
    • My prices include it: buyers pay your listed prices, and receipts show how much of it is tax.
    • Add it at checkout: buyers see the tax added to their total before they pay.
  6. Select Save.

Add your business details to receipts

Your business name, address and tax ID on receipts come from Settings › Billing. Add them there so your receipts show the details your customers may need.

Tips

  • If you sell to consumers in many places, My prices include it keeps your prices round and predictable.
  • Tax isn't charged on donations.
  • The tax on each order is shown in Store › Orders and on the PDF receipt.
  • To stop charging tax, untick Charge tax on what I sell and select Save. Past orders keep the tax they were charged.

Troubleshooting

  • I can't see the Tax button: only people who can manage the store see it. Ask the workspace owner.
  • The rate isn't accepted: enter a number only, without the % sign.
  • My business details are missing from receipts: fill them in under Settings › Billing.
