Agencies can let clients review a website before it goes live, without giving them an account.
Share a review link
- Open the website and choose Review & team.
- Name what you're sharing, for example "Homepage round 2", choose how long the link stays open, and choose Create link.
- Copy the link and send it to your client. It's shown once.
The link opens a frozen copy of your draft as it was when you made the link, so later edits don't change what the client is reviewing.
What the client can do
- Look through every page.
- Leave comments, optionally naming the page.
- Approve or Request changes.
You're notified, and the conversation appears in Review & team, where you can reply. Close a link at any time to stop it opening.
Require approval before publishing
Turn on Publishing needs approval (owners and admins). Then:
- Owners and admins can still publish.
- Everyone else can publish only after the client approved a review of exactly the current draft. Any later change needs a new approval.
- Deploys through the API always need the approval.
Team roles
| Role | Websites |
|---|---|
| Owner, Admin | Everything, including approving and transferring |
| Editor | Create, edit and publish |
| Developer | Create, edit, publish, plus API tokens and webhooks |
| Analyst, Viewer | View only |
Hand a website over
Transfer website moves it to a client's workspace you can manage. Files, versions, deployments and analytics move with it. Custom domains are disconnected and form responses stay in your workspace.
All your clients in one place
HTML Websites › All websites lists every website in every workspace you belong to, with live status, visits and reviews waiting.
