Each rule watches for one thing and does one thing. It acts once per post or idea, within about a minute, and every run is logged.
Steps
- Open Content › Automations and choose Make your first rule (or New rule).
- Enter a Name, for example "Queue approved posts".
- Under When, choose what to watch for, such as a post being approved or an idea being tagged.
- If the trigger needs it, fill in the extra detail: a Tag, or Idea title starts with.
- Under Then, choose what to do: add the post to a Queue, tell a Team member, or add a Tag to add.
- Make sure On is switched on, then choose Save rule.
Examples
- When a post is approved, add it to the weekday queue.
- When an idea is tagged "urgent", tell your editor.
- When an idea's title starts with "Khutbah", tag it so it is easy to find.
Check what happened
Recent runs lists each run as Done, Failed, Skipped or Running. If a rule did nothing, look here first.
Tips
- Rules act on activity from the moment they are created. They do not go back over old posts.
- Turn a rule off with Turn off instead of deleting it if you might want it again. Deleting removes its log.
