Domain DNS records, step by step

Exactly which records to add at your domain provider and how to check them.

Connecting your own domain needs one or two DNS records at the company where you bought the domain. This guide walks you through it.

Steps

  1. Open Settings › Domains and choose Connect domain.
  2. Type the domain. Use a subdomain like links.yourbrand.com, or a root domain like yourbrand.com if your plan includes it.
  3. Choose what This domain serves: your pages, links, shop or everything you publish.
  4. Weesify shows the records to add, usually a CNAME for subdomains and a TXT record to prove you own the domain. Copy each value exactly.
  5. Sign in to your domain provider, open its DNS settings and add the records. Leave the TTL at its default.
  6. Back in Weesify choose Check my DNS. The status changes from Pending to Active once the records are found.

Tips

  • Remove old records for the same name (for example an older A or CNAME for links) or they will conflict.
  • Don't add yourbrand.com to the end of the name field if your provider adds it automatically. Otherwise you'll get links.yourbrand.com.yourbrand.com.
  • Changes usually work within minutes, but some providers take up to 48 hours.
