Courses let you teach what you know with video and written lessons, sold from your page. Students get a private link, so they never need a password. You can build the whole course as a draft and publish only when you're happy with it.
Steps
- Open Revenue › Courses. On your first visit choose Create your first course. After that, use New course.
- Under Name your course, type a Course name and continue. The course opens in its builder as a Draft.
- On the Curriculum tab, under Lessons, pick a Kind (Lesson, Quiz or Assignment), type a New lesson title and choose Add.
- Select a lesson to edit it. You can fill in:
- Title and an optional Section. Lessons with the same section are grouped together, for example "Getting started".
- Video: a YouTube or Vimeo link. Set the video to unlisted so only your students find it.
- Notes: written content. You can use simple formatting such as
## Heading,**bold**,*italic*, links and lists. - Length (minutes) and Unlocks after (see Drip lessons and manage access).
- Free preview: anyone can watch this lesson from the course page.
- Use the Move up and Move down arrows to set the order. Students go through lessons in this order.
- Open the Details & price tab. Under The course page, check the Name, add One line about it, a Description and a Cover image.
- Under Price, choose a Currency and enter a Price. Leave it empty for a free course. You can also change the Button text, for example Enrol now.
- Choose Publish. Your course goes live and you can share the link.
Quizzes and assignments
- For a Quiz, add questions from your Question bank and set a Pass mark and Tries (leave Tries empty for unlimited). Students must pass the quiz to move on. Answers are marked on the server and are never sent to the student's page. Turn on Show the answers if you want students to see them after they pass or run out of tries.
- For an Assignment, put the brief in the notes and choose what They hand in: Text or a file, Text only or A file only. With You review it on, the assignment counts as done only when you approve it. Review hand-ins on the Assignments tab.
Tips
- Not sure where to start? Use Plan with AI to draft an outline for the course, then edit it.
- Changes save as you type. Watch for Saving… next to the course summary.
- To sell it from your bio page, use Copy link under Share your course and add the course with a Product block, or share the link anywhere.
Troubleshooting
- "Add at least one lesson first.": a course needs at least one lesson before you can publish it.
- People can't buy a paid course: set up how you get paid in Store first. See Choose how you get paid.
- A video won't play: check that the link is a YouTube or Vimeo address and that the video isn't set to private.
